Well what can I say, after driving 2 hours to get there we arrived in a converted van and a car with family’. We were then told unless we had a bed and curtains we would not be allowed to camp. As tents are there with no bed fixed to it. But the attitude from the people were what did it for us. A curfew of 10pm to be in bed and on site. So if you like dinner and drinks don’t bother going. I
Liked: Easy to book and check in, the staff were helpful and friendly.
Beautiful site, donkeys, ponies and many wild birds all around. You really feel like you are at the edge of the forest. …
Liked: This site is peaceful and relaxing. I found it to be very clean everywhere and everyone very friendly. The ponies and donkeys are lovely- I have not known such curious donkeys before! The site is well located for walks directly from …
I stayed here twice in 2018 and 2019. It's a beautiful campground with wild donkeys and horses roaming around. Its family friendly and due to the curfew it's also quiet at night which is great for a good sleep. The facilities are in centre of the park, they are well kept and clean. When I arrived with a tent they informed me that I could pitch wherever there was space. When I was there it was relatively empty so a lot of space! Beware of the donkeys though, they like to snif around in your tent if you don't close it. I woke up to one staring at me. Oh, and the horses were all gathering around the toilet block so that was slightly inconvenient :D
What a campsite !!! If you are planning on camping in the New Forest then this is the place to stay! Thanks to all of the abundance of space the campsite has to offer you can park where you feel like, giving it an almost “wild camping” feel. The horses roam around you leaving a sense of everything being in its natural habitat. The staff are fantastic and very helpful especially Guy who helped us with our technical fault on our van!
This is a campsite which is perfect for all adults and families, the facilities are clean (there are no showers but don’t let that put you off) and the whole place has such a grounded natural, safe feel.
If you appreciate nature you will appreciate Roundhill !
Little tip, ask for a tub of fish food and feed the fish in the pond, they are quite magnificent; also if you need your phone charged the reception offer this for a small fee.
Thanks for a great stay- we will be back !
Turned up without booking to stay 1night, staff were so friendly, lots of lovely areas to pitch up, has toilet blocks and washing up facilities(very clean standard),small shop on site..fresh water.. we had a lovely stay with our dogs, even being woken by the donkeys gathering around our camper 😉will definitely return.
Liked: Lots and lots of space - and all very clean. I was struggling to put up my air tent alone and another camper so very kindly camr over to help - such a positive start to my visit! The staff were also extremely friendly and helpful …
Liked: Such a relaxing weekend, the campsite is spacious & it’s so lovely being in nature with the ponies, cows & donkeys. Thoroughly recommend it for a perfect Forest getaway. …
A nice overall campsite. Very large lots of grass pitches. Nice woodland towarss the back. They can be quite strict on what they let in. If you have a campervan conversion make sure you are fully or almost fully converted otherwise they might not permit entry.
Tolilet facilities are as expected. Plenty of water taps etc around.
Note: Little to no phone signal but if you want to get away from it all thats perfect
